The year 9
program is a completely remote, wilderness experience. Students must live out of only their hiking
pack for the week, being fully self-sufficient, as they bushwalk along a
section of the famous Great Ocean Walk. With
the guidance of Outdoor Education instructors students experience the
challenges of bushwalking, bush camping, cooking, navigating, caring for one
another, mountain biking and local indigenous discussions while living in small
temporary communities. The experience encourages students to develop awareness,
appreciation and knowledge of themselves, their peer group and their
environment.
It is a 6 day
program, the first day being a gear allocation, packing and preparation day at
school.
