St Leonard's College

Library

The Cornish Resource Centre at St Leonard's College is the library for students in years 5 to 12, including those completing VCE and the IB. The programmes, cooperatively planned with classroom teachers, develop independent information literacy skills and nurture a love of wide reading and an appreciation of literature.

McMillan House Resource Centre

The Junior School at McMillan House also has a well-resourced library for use by students in ELC to year 4.

The McMillan House Resource Centre (MRC) is a dynamic and well-resourced information centre that is central to the teaching and learning programs including the Primary Years Programme within McMillan House.
The MRC caters for the educational and recreational needs of the students from ELC to year 4 and the teaching staff at McMillan House. It gives students a broad and positive experience of books and information technology. The role of the MRC is to help foster a love of reading and create confident, enthusiastic readers who will engage in lifelong learning.
At the MRC literature is promoted through many special events such as Book Week, the Premier’s Reading Challenge, visiting authors, illustrators and performers.
The MRC is spacious and enables whole classes, small groups and individuals to browse, borrow, read, study and access the school’s information technology resources.
The MRC is open for students at lunchtimes and after school for students and parents.

The College promotes reading through annual events such as the Premier’s Reading Challenge, Book Week and our ongoing Reading Recovery programs for Junior School students identified as needing extra assistance.
