St Leonard's College combined Resource Centres Mission states: The Information Resource Centres support and uphold the St Leonard's College Mission statement. As partners in the teaching and learning programs we ensure that the students develop an enjoyment of reading and information literacy skills for life long learning, in a dynamic and well resourced environment.
Each campus at St Leonard's College has a modern, well resourced Information Resource Centre that is central to the school’s teaching and learning programs across the College and staffed by teacher librarians and support staff. All three Resource Centres are spacious to enable whole class, small groups and individuals to browse, borrow, read, study, access the school’s intranet and the internet. At St Leonard’s College literature is promoted through many special events throughout the year, which include Bookweek, reading challenges, visiting authors and illustrators, performers and excursions. Such programs ensure that students develop an enjoyment of reading and the information literacy skills for life long learning, so they can confidently move forward into our innovative, knowledge-based society. |
