Parent Support

Parent support provides opportunities for parental involvement and contact through various activities such as a welcome dinner for new parents, year level dinners and cocktail parties and class representatives.

All activities throughout the year are advertised in the fortnightly publication St Leonard's News.  This publication is published on the College website fortnightly and a summary of the News is distributed to every student. Families can choose to receive an email alert when the newsletter is updated.

Crisis Support Service
The Parents’ Association offer help to school families in times of crisis, such as serious illness or bereavement of a spouse or student. Volunteers donate family meals, shop, mow lawns, help with transport, do a basket of ironing, or offer help with other day-to-day tasks.
How it works: if you would like some help, please contact the coordinator Gabrielle Wells on 0409 483 485 or 9592 1995.  Referrals can also be received via student counsellors and heads of ELC, Junior School, Middle School and Upper School.  Such referrals would only be made after discussion with, and with approval of, the family concerned.
We have several parent volunteers contributing to this service, but would welcome more.  Please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call Gabrielle to register as a volunteer.

International Friends

International Friends provides support and friendship for families new to Bayside -  from overseas, interstate or just moving suburbs.

This group provides a wealth of local knowledge and will assist you greatly with your transition into the Bayside community. They hold many social activities, such as coffee mornings, golf days, tennis days, book group and language group. They meet every third Thursday of the month in Harefield dining room – Brighton campus from 1.00pm – 3.00pm.

A 'friend' recently commented on the group: "I was very blessed to sit among so many women and listen to the introduction of each name from all over the world.  It was most exciting to hear the accents of each person representing countries I may never visit and even better when I discovered the wonderful person behind those accents.  I will never forget how welcoming and genuine this group was towards newcomers.  This group was unique in that the highest standards of excellence was displayed towards each other.  It's unusual to be among women that are not malicious.  In fact I found the group to be encouraging, helpful, sympathetic and genuine.  The events, dinners and long time friends made in such short time will ever be with me.

God bless all those who help to lead the group in its tradition of excellence as people continue to come and go in Australia.  I believe this and thank you all for my adventure and unforgettable experience."
