Our vibrant netball program welcomes students from Years 1 to 12 to join the St Leonard’s College Netball Club (STLNC).
Originally established in 1991 by Leanne McLean, a dedicated Physical Education teacher at St Leonard’s College, our netball legacy continues to thrive.
At STLNC, we embrace a culture of inclusivity, inviting individuals of all abilities and genders to partake in our supportive netball community. Our program features teams spanning from 9 & Under to 18 & Under. While traditionally female-dominated, our commitment extends to welcoming boys in the 9 & Under through to 13 & Under competitions, ensuring that they can experience the joy and camaraderie of netball.
Weekly training sessions are held at the Hawkes Sports Centre in the evenings, setting the stage for our spirited matches at Sandringham on Saturdays.
Netball is a dynamic and fast-paced team sport that enhances cognitive functions through quick thinking and decisive actions and contributes significantly to physical fitness, agility, and cardiovascular health. Beyond the court, the team-building dynamics of netball play a crucial role in reducing stress levels and promoting mental wellbeing. The emphasis on sportsmanship and creativity fosters friendships and ensures that every game is an opportunity for fun and camaraderie.
Whether your child is a seasoned player or just discovering the sport, our netball program celebrates athleticism and the joy of being part of a dynamic team.
