Leaving a Bequest

There are many ways to leave a bequest in your Will. No matter the size, your gift helps to ensure the College’s sustainable success for current and future generations.

For over 100 years St Leonard’s College has provided girls and boys with an education for life, preparing them to flourish beyond the school gates.

From humble beginnings in Wolseley Grove, the College has grown and adapted to the changing needs of the community and its young people. Only through the generosity of our community have we been able to realise our commitment to provide students with the facilities and learning opportunities, which prepare them to make meaningful contributions to society. Bequests are a simple but incredibly powerful means by which to make a lasting difference beyond your lifetime. Leaving a bequest helps to ensure the College’s sustainable success for current and future generations.

How to Leave a Bequest

There are several ways to leave a bequest to St Leonard’s College in your Will, for example:

– A percentage of your estate (for example, 2%)

– A nominated fixed sum

– A residue of your estate

– Gifts in kind:

St Leonard’s College will gratefully receive a range of non-monetary gifts, commonly referred to as gifts in kind. Examples of gifts in kind include real estate, artwork, special equipment and other tangible personal property. These may be gifts that enhance a department or an existing St Leonard’s College collection.

When you and your family are planning your estate, it is important to provide for those people and causes nearest and dearest to you. Once you have provided for your loved ones, please consider making a gift to St Leonard’s College. We recommend that you consult your legal advisor and discuss these important decisions with your family and friends.

We would be delighted to have a confidential discussion with you about how your gift will benefit the College.

The Foundation Office can provide information and assistance to ensure that making your bequest is a simple and rewarding experience.

If you would like to make an appointment to discuss becoming a bequestor and the impact you can make, please call (03) 9909 9569 or email [email protected]

When you include a gift in your Will please let us know so that we can acknowledge your generosity. We also respect that you may prefer for your gift to remain anonymous.
