St Leonard’s College named ACS Swimming Champions for the fourth consecutive year

Over fifty St Leonard’s College swimmers participated in the 2018 ACS Swimming Championships on Thursday 15 March. Being crowned ACS Swimming Champions previously for three years in a row, there was a lot of pressure on the swimmers’ performances to ensure the St Leonard’s College team brought home the silverware for the fourth consecutive year. Our team raced tightly against all the ACS member schools, in particular, Westbourne Grammar School, our closest rival.

Congratulations to all the St Leonard’s College swimmers for their fantastic efforts the whole day. Two of our swimmers, Abbey Kearney and Liam Murphy broke multiple ACS records and performed incredibly well. But with strong competitors from member schools close on our tail, our relay teams and strong squad across all years put us into the lead. In the end, we placed first in Boys Aggregate and equal first in Girls Aggregate with Westbourne Grammar School, resulting in first overall which is an outcome we are all very proud of.

A huge thank you to all the coaches who worked hard throughout the summer season to prepare us for the big day. Another congratulations to all of the swimmers for another successful ACS Swimming Championships, bring on next year!
