Early Learning Centre
Our Early Learning Centre offers an enriching and stimulating educational program for children aged three to five years. Highly qualified staff provide a setting in which children begin to develop the skills and qualities necessary to become lifelong learners, and provide a rich environment for social, intellectual and physical development. Our program follows the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. Widely recognised as best practice in early childhood education, Reggio Emilia offers an education which respects children and their rights as citizens.
Established in 2004, our Early Learning Centre is designed to inspire creativity, exploration and curiosity in young children. Expansive indoor and outdoor learning spaces provide the setting for a challenging and fun program based on individual and collective needs and interests.
In May 2013 our Early Learning Centre (ELC) was assessed under the National Quality Standard Assessment and Rating scheme.
The Senior Authorised Officer summed up its assessment thus:
“The service has achieved an overall rating of Exceeding in the National Quality Standards. The service performed particularly well in the area of educational program and practice. This was attributed to the efforts of educators to continually engage in a process of reflective practice which ensured that the educational program was stimulating, and enhanced children’s learning and development. The physical environment was designed to support positive relationships and to maximise children’s level of interest and engagement in the program. This was supported by effective leadership with systems in place to drive continuous improvement. The service is to be commended for their positive participation in the National Quality Standards.”
