EAL/IEL Teacher

The Program for Language Acquisition and Cultural Engagement (PLACE) Program is an educational initiative of St Leonard’s College which has been designed to enable students from non-English speaking backgrounds to enrol directly into the College for Intensive English Language (IEL) tuition and cultural immersion before transitioning into mainstream classes including English as an Additional Language (EAL).

This is a one year contract full time role, commencing Wednesday 22 January 2020, the new staff induction day.

The College reserves the right to interview and employ a successful candidate before the closing date.

Please note:

1. Applicants are required to supply the name, address and telephone number of three referees, two of whom must be able to comment on the applicant’s professional work (or training), during the past five years.
2. An employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is required to be undertaken by any persons working in the field of education who may come into contact with children without direct supervision. The WWCC is valid for a five (5) year period and the VIT for one year.
3. The successful applicant will be required to produce original copies (from which a photocopy will be made) of transcripts of qualifications claimed.
