Resident Caretaker – Camp Ibis

The College is seeking a resident caretaker for our Outdoor Education facility.

The College owns a beautiful Outdoor Education facility, Camp Ibis, which is located on the Banksia Peninsula, 13 kilometres from Paynesville. It has been developed under the conditions of the Barton Crees Memorial Trust as a school camp for St Leonard’s College since 1975. The trust land occupies a magnificent lakefront peninsula on the Gippsland Lakes and the school’s site has a boat jetty and immediate access to Duck Arm. Ibis has a passenger boat, the Eucumbene II, with a carrying capacity of 40, plus canoes and mountain bikes to help the students enjoy gaining outdoor skills and an appreciation of the natural environment.

The caretaker role includes a three-bedroom house on the property.

Please note:

  1. Applicants are required to supply the name, address and telephone number of three referees, two of whom must be able to comment on the applicant’s professional work (or training), during the past five years.
  2. An employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is required to be undertaken by any persons working in the field of education who may come into contact with children without direct supervision. The WWCC is valid for a five (5) year period and the VIT for one year.
  3. The successful applicant will be required to produce original copies (from which a photocopy will be made) of transcripts of qualifications claimed.
