St Leonard’s College invites all individuals with an interest in our College to like our social media pages, such as our Facebook page, and to post comments.

We aim to provide an open, welcoming and safe online environment for all our online community members, and one that is mutually respectful.

Sometimes St Leonard’s College will be required to moderate content on our social media pages.

We review social media posts by our online community members and may moderate content if community members do not respect the community guidelines applicable to our social media pages.

These guidelines require that our online community members do not post any content that is illegal, inappropriate or offensive, including the  following:

  • attacks on specific groups or content meant to harass, threaten or abuse an individual, this includes inappropriate content or personal attacks on St Leonard’s College staff, students, or other Facebook users;
  • hateful or discriminatory content regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or political beliefs;
  • defamatory, offensive, deceptive or violent content;
  • obscene or sexually explicit content or links;
  • trolling, spamming, and deliberately misleading posting;
  • content pertaining to illegal activities;
  • link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage the operation of other people’s computers or mobile devices;
  • acknowledgement of intent to stalk an individual or collect private information without disclosure;
  • content for a commercial purpose or promotion
  • unreasonable or unauthorised disclosure of someone else’s personal information;
  • violations of another person’s copyright, moral rights or other intellectual property rights;
  • content that relates to confidential or proprietary business information; and
  • content determined to be inappropriate, in poor taste, or otherwise contrary to the purposes of the page.

St Leonard’s College reserves the right to delete any content posted by a community member if it does not comply with our online community guidelines. We may also block users from accessing and or/posting to our page if they continue to ignore our online community comments guidelines.

Any derogatory content or comments that are posted on St Leonard’s College sponsored advertising posts may be removed by the College if we deem it appropriate to do so.

By posting content, community members grant St Leonard’s College a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use the posted content including the rights to copy, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce for the purposes of sharing community member content on social media.

Community members are responsible for the content they post and all activity that occurs under their account.

St Leonard’s College requests that community members do not misrepresent themselves or take on the identity of someone else while using this service.

If you believe that someone has misrepresented your identity on our social media page, please email us [email protected] and we will investigate it further.

Comments, images and other content posted by our online community members to the St Leonard’s College page do not necessarily represent the College’s views. We do not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages.

St Leonard’s College upholds the Terms of Service standards administered by Facebook. Facebook encourages all users to utilise the ‘Report’ links when they find abusive content.
