St Leonard's College Bus Service Information and Bookings

College Bus Service Registrations 2024

The College Bus Service operates six privately chartered bus routes through suburbs including Beaumaris, Bentleigh, Black Rock, Brighton, Caulfield, Cheltenham, Dingley Village, Elsternwick, Elwood, Hampton, Highett, Malvern East, McKinnon, Moorabbin, Mordialloc, Murrumbeena, Parkdale and Sandringham. Stops at local train stations also provide an option for families seeking to connect with the metropolitan rail network.

Cost of Bus Travel

The College charges an annual registration fee which allows for unlimited travel on one of the six bus routes throughout 2024.

The subsidised 2024 annual Bus Service Registration Fee is $890 per student which provides bus travel at a single trip rate of $2.20 per trip ($4.45 per day).

For those seeking to use the designated local train station connection bus stops only, the subsidised annual registration fee for 2024 is $445 ($1.12 per trip and $2.23 per day). It is expected that families only apply for this service where their child is catching a connecting train.

A concession rate is available where a family member (either the student or their carer) holds a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veteran Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card. Please contact bus bookings at [email protected] before registering where eligible for concession.

Routes and Timetables

Bus service details including routes and stops available can be viewed by clicking here.

Visual maps are available here.

While it is anticipated that bus service routes will remain in place for 2024, families will be advised if changes to stops or times are required during the year.

2024 Registration

Please register and pay as soon as possible. Please use the comments box if there is further information you would like to provide.

Should the number of registrations exceed the number of seats available on your chosen route, we will contact you to advise that your child has been placed on a waiting list.

It is important to note that the College Bus Service is provided to transport registered students to and from school to home. The Service does not accommodate casual use by unregistered bus students or registered students going to friend’s houses on a bus route they are not registered for.

How to Register

To register to use the College Bus Service in 2024, please complete the following
two-step process. Places are not confirmed until both registration and payment are accepted.

1. Complete a separate booking form for each student you wish to register for bus travel by clicking here.

To do this you will need to know the route and stop number you will be using in 2024, these can be viewed by clicking here.

2.  Once you have submitted the online registration form, you will receive a link via email directing you to make payment of $890 for each student you have registered. If you are making payment for two or more students, please change the quantity on the payment page so that a single payment can be processed. Once your payment has been made and accepted you will receive a tax invoice via email which serves as confirmation of your Bus Service registration.

Please contact Anita Kelly on [email protected] to receive a payment link for the $445 if you wish to register for a station transfer bus stop (for students transferring onto the public transport system only).

New Bus Families

Please note that the 2024 annual registration fee includes the cost of one retractable fob and the ‘tap on/tap off’ bus tag. These will be handed out by College staff as the students catch their afternoon buses in the first weeks of term one. Students will be able to travel on their bus until the end of the second week of term one without a bus tag provided registration and payment have been received. When your child receives their fob and bus tag please ensure it is attached to their school bag. Should your child lose their bus tag, a replacement must be requested with a $22 replacement fee payable.

Current Bus Families

For 2023 bus families, bus tags issued in 2023 will be reactivated at the beginning of 2024 where 2024 registration and payment has been received. Please note that the 2024 annual registration fee includes the cost of one replacement retractable fob and bus tag. If your child has lost their 2023 bus tag, please request your replacement bus tag to be issued and activated for the beginning of term one in the comments box of the registration form. Once redeemed, any further losses or breakages will incur a $22 replacement fee.

If you encounter any difficulty completing the booking or payment process, please contact Anita Kelly via [email protected].
